Concrete Countertop Introduction:

It's well known by now that concrete has become a material that homeowners and designers are requesting and weaving into their homes, offices, retail outlets, restaurants, etc., in the most amazing ways. But leading the charge in the concrete craze are concrete countertops. Now you can find out why concrete counters are so popular, how you can make their versatility work for you, what color options abound, and some insight into how they are designed, created and built. To enhance countertops even further we now manufacture our very own counterop epoxy, which is a two component high performance Clear 100% solids epoxy resin system for all types of countertops which can be mixed at a 1:1 ratio by volume. It provides a high grade epoxy coating for concrete, wood, metal and various other substrates which gives a beautiful, elegant and mar resistant surface that will enhance the look of virtually any substrate for years to come. EpoxyMaster Countertop Epoxy is available in 20 solid colors and 20 Metallic Pearl Effect colors to match your countertop needs and complement your personal style. Don't see what you're looking for? We can also manufacture a custom color based on your specific needs. Custom colors can be mixed to match your favorite vehicle, sports team or company logo. Description

Additives such as fiber reinforcement, silica fume pozzolan; epoxy, acrylic and concrete overlay materials are often used.

Countertops are made of cement, lightweight aggregates and a combination of additives. The hard, durable countertop epoxy is so dense that oils and fluids cannot penetrate its surface to soak in and cause staining.

Some type of reinforcement is used such as structural steel, wire mesh, fiberglass, and/or fibers. Sometimes more than one type of reinforcement is used.

The countertops are cured. Countertops are often ground. For example, grinding off the surface “skin” with progressively finer diamond polishing stones. This achieves two important objectives: durability and beauty.

Our countertops are always sealed. The type of sealer, method and number of coats of sealer is unique to each concrete countertop project. EpoxyMaster utilizes its high performance industrial Countertop Epoxy as a top coat, particularly in kitchen areas. The epoxy is harder than the concrete itself. Using a high performance countertop epoxy as a sealer is very affordable and it takes less than a week to apply due to using multiple coats. The results are amazing. While this adds to the cost, the quality is superior and the only maintenance that will be required is to apply a good water-based liquid wax every nine months to a year.
